Little did we know our puppy would be diagnosed with a liver shunt (genetic/hereditary trait due to excessive inbreeding) a mere five months after picking her up. We want to share this story with you, so no one else has to experience this pain. Our beautiful little puppy, purchased from Shanghai Chows on January 21, 2009 travelled with us to go skiing a week after we picked her up. She loved burying her nose into the snow and walking around the Village to pose for pictures. We had until the end of July to bond with our new family member. She started throwing up regularly so we took her to the vet for 2 weeks worth of test, until we received the bad news. Here are some pictures as well as just 1 of the bills and 1 test result. More to come/under construction.

Female crean born 11_28_2008
Here is an initial email from Shanghai Chows' Jane Weiss offering a cream female born on 11-28-08 The 11_28 litter was born to Kaluah and Mumbasa, yet the female we received has papers stating that she was born to Shanghai's Memorandum and Shanhas Mei Ling born 10_30. The 10_30 female we received apparenty did not exist when we received the December 18 email offering us a dog. How DOES one check on the parent of a dog? Only a reputable breeder, it is based on trust.
